Hey, how's it going?

I'm Jennifer Been, owner and founder of JBeen Training LLC. 

I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Fitness Specialist, and RRCA Running Coach (level 1).

I have been training clients in running since 2012 and in strength training since 2019. 

In working with women for more than 12 years I have learned that our bodies are capable of far more than our mind wants us to believe and change begins from the outside in.

If you want to feel strong and invincible mentally, challenge yourself physically. You will be amazed what you're capable of.

My Fitness Story

     I started my fitness journey in 2008 when I ran my first 5K. I was a mom with preteen children, so running was very much a mental release for me. I fell in love with running and went on to run 33 half marathons, 3 full marathons, and more 5K and 10K races than I could count over the next 11 years.

     A summer bikini photo made me realize that all that running had resulted in an under muscled version of myself. I did not look and feel the way I wanted to so I embarked on a journey to build more muscle in an effort to help me age well.

     I started strength training in 2019 as the foundation of my fitness. While I do enjoy a run or bike ride as some great low intensity steady state cardio, the foundation of my fitness is strength training. Specifically to build muscle mass and bone density.

     My fitness story includes plenty of highs and lows including back surgery, a broken tibia, an osteoporosis diagnosis, loss of loved ones, birth of grandchildren, starting a new business, and celebrating my 50th birthday with a photoshoot of my most fit body yet. 

     Life inevitably brings joy and sorrow to each of us, but facing each day with gratitude of the mind and body you are living in, knowing you put in the hard work to achieve it will give you a true appreciation for the life you've been given. Get out there and start living!
